3. ABU DHABI

Being in a country where dominated by a dessert is different. As soon as I got out from the airport, hot air hit my face and it was around 8 pm. I was stunned by how modern this country with all the latest products available in the shops. All original world-class brands are ready in the mall and shopping centre. Beautiful buildings and the amazing Burj Khalifa in Dubai is just a master piece.

The Al Zayed Mosque is the icon of Abu Dhabi. I could not resist to not taking photographs even for the detail decorations made from natural stones. I admire the architect and the design very much.

One of the most expensive hotel in the world, The Emirates Palace Hotel, was amazing. This hotel is a little palace rather than a hotel. All corners and tables had fresh beautiful flowers. I felt like a princess being in this hotel even only spent not more than an hour.

2. EDINBURGH

I had been dreaming to visit UK when the opportunity came to me in 2016. There was a 10th Flora Malesiana Symposium hosted by the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. I flew from Cairns to Edinburgh and stopped at Sydney and Abu Dhabi.

Edinburgh is a beautiful, stunning city which full of old amazing buildings. I was informed by a friend that Edinburgh has cold temperature all time but I did not prepared enough. It was 15 degrees Celcius in the summer! However, I really enjoyed my visit.

I have been in some countries and cities which I really enjoyed including in the forests or villages. For anyone who would like to visit the places I have been there before, here are some information and tips.

1. CAIRNS

Cairns is a small city located in North Queensland. I came here for the first time in 1998. I instantly love this city. The population was very small and the situation was very quiet. The traffic was fantastic and the people were friendly.

When I came here later in 2014, the population has increased, the city and the traffic were busier but still quiet and enjoyable. I could see more buildings, houses and shops. More people at the James Cook University but also some people have gone.

Cairns is situated in the tropical region. So, the climate is tropical but it also has winter from June-August. You can find beautiful beaches in Cairns such as Palm Cove, Trinity beach, Kewarra beach and so on. Many tourist destinations are available which most are taking you to the nature. These are some of them: Skyrail, The Esplanade, Mossman Gorge, Crystal Cascade, Lake Barrine, Lake Eacham and Port Douglas.
